I know you will soon be taking part in the Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change . My name's Fernando Alcalá and I am a 1º Bachillerato student at IES El Palo school in Malaga. My school is currently involved in a Comenius project whose main topic has to do, among other things, with the impact of CO2 in the environment and consequently the climate change and the nasty consequences that seem to be coming upon the world. I would like to show my concern for the state of our planet, at large, as well as our country,in particular.
The current state of affairs is pretty bad:
A variety of environmental problems are affecting the whole world. As globalization continues and the earth's natural processes transform local problems into international issues, few societies are being left untouched by major environmental problems.
Some of the largest problems that are now affecting the world are acid rain, deforestation, overpopulation, air and water pollution.
If we continue polluting all we have, this is going to be a mix of catastrophes and changes in the world's structure that will cause some serious problems in the human being's survive struggle.
I would like to make some suggestions too that I am sure would be helpful if we don't want the climate change to get to the point of no return:
Please, if you can, give information to concern the higher number of people that is possible.
Maybe you could convince people for going on public transports or free-pollution transports.
Possibly you could run an advertising campaign,funny and interesting to establish people to this habits.
Please, do your best to help our planet, our home before it's too late
1.What impact does climate change have on wildlife and society?
The length of season are changing, spring is coming up about two weeks earlier than 30-40 years ago, this is logical.
As the climate changes animals are moving around and it changes the distribution of animals and plants
Hi, I'm Fernando and I'm writing this today to explain a little bit about this big problem affecting the whole world: global warming and its undesirable effects. I'm also giving my suggestions as to what we could all do to stop it.
Put my computer on stand by.
Turn off my computer screen.
Don't turn on the lights if I don't need them.
Turn off lights if I don't need them.
Make sure that heating is not over 21 degrees C.
Use your hand instead of airconditioning
Have a shower instead of a bath
Turn off tap when I'm brushing my teeth, washing my hands or cooking
Never use the toilet as a bin
Hang your clothes to dry in the sun
Recycle used batteries
Use recycled paper
Recycle cooking oil
Recycle plastic, glass and paper
Unplug your chargers when you are not using them
Turn off the engine of my motor vehicle if I'm caught in a traffic hold up
Drive at a constant speed whenever possible
Use public transportation every time you can
Turn off lights in your classroom if you don't need it
Make sure that only recycled paper is used in my school
Try to convince my teachers to make photocopies only when absolutely necessary
Walk to school whenever you can
Cycle to school
Don't drop litter anywhere
Buy organic food when you can
Use your own bags when buying your groceries
Don't buy things I don't really need
Eat less meat
